Descendants of Henry and Elizabeth Botsford who made the journey to America from England in 1639 to escape the unrest in England at the time.
Henry Botsford was the first known Botsford to emigrate to America. He settled in Connecticut as one of the 44 heads of households that were the original planters of Milford, Connecticut in 1639.

In 1905 Charles Woodruff Woolley Sr. gathered a group of Henry and Elizabeth Botsford's descendants at his home in Buffalo, New York and started what is now known as the Band of Botsford.
